MEGAN IS 2!

It has been an extremely long time since I have posted anything on our blog and what better reason to start writing then to tell you all that my little girl is now 2!! I can’t believe that two weeks ago she turned 2 - time went by faster than I thought it would. Sadly she had a fever that day so she wasn’t in too much of a festive mood but she still loved her cake and all the gifts she got from family. She even blew out her two birthday candles all be herself which we thought was very cute. At the end of the day we were able to see fireworks from the park in front of our place and even a random lantern float up in the sky. She was really excited by that since one of her favorite movies to see is Tangled so we just saw it float away into the night and once we couldn’t see it anymore it was bedtime.

Now if you saw Megan you would see that she is very petite for her age. She is on the small scale but she understands a lot!! Her favorite three words are no, yes and dog.  She will sometimes tell you when she needs her diaper changed and she will ALWAYS tell you if she is thirsty or hungry. She tries to do everything with her baby doll that we do with her. She feeds it, brushes her teeth, has her go to the potty, and puts her to bed. Megan will sometimes try to act like me by grabbing my purse and putting on my shoes/heels to go out. She definitely has a personality of her own that just makes you think, ‘Where did she learn that from’.

Gabriel on the other hand will be 1 in two weeks!! I am so excited for that as well and still am deciding whether to give him a Cars birthday (he loves little cars) or toy story since that is the one movie that really catches his attention. He’s really young though so i’m pretty sure he’s just going to be excited about the cake he gets to destroy for his 1st birthday.
It has been such an amazing experience to have my kids somewhat close in age. I will admit there has been challenges/tears at some points since both sometimes need my attention and help and I just feel completely pulled in two directions. But then it also helps me appreciate my own mother, sister, sister-in-laws and actually come to think of it any parent. I have always been thankful for my Mom and all the things she did for me but after becoming a parent that just grew tenfold. And seeing my kids play together, laugh at each other, and even help one another get into what they shouldn’t, it all just makes me smile and makes my day so much better. They have there moments when all they want to do is take toys from one another but they also are very caring for one another. Megan will even sometimes take the big sister/mommy role by finding Gabe’s paci when he is crying and saying “bad, bad, bad” to the floor if he fell. They are so different/unique yet they are similar as well. They have the same contagious yet mischievous smile and they both love to dance. Whether it’s an actual song or maybe some jingle/commercial they will both start dancing. They make anything and everything worth it and I honestly hope they grow up to be the best of friends.
